17th September 2023 Fright Nights Construction Continues

Thorpe Park
Sunday 17th September 2023

Fright Nights 2023 is just around the corner and work on this year's event is fully underway!

Starting at the front of the park, the lights on the bridge have been changed to red bulbs ready for late-night walking over the bridge. Stitches the new maze for this year continues to be worked on, even at the weekends! The fake shop facade at the front of the maze continues to be painted. It won't be long until signage for the "shop" is installed and actors step foot into the maze for the first time. A peek inside the first room reveals some boxes on the wall, it looks like the first room might be similar to the room we saw in the promo videos. Emergency lights have also been installed within the maze and outside, this new maze is one big step closer to being operational.

The cut-through to Saw is now closed and work on The Crows scarezone has begun. Over the past few days, the route of the maze has been built with construction fences which have then been lined with canvus and plants. This year's Crows scarezone is HUGE! We can't wait to see how this scare zone progresses over the next few weeks.

Previously in our last update, we noticed that the compound area had been cleared. A shipping container has now been installed with a notice on the door saying "Entertainments" We wonder if this will become a green room for actors over the Halloween period. As the trailers green room will be busy for actors for that maze. This green room could be used for Deaths Doors and Lucifier's Lair.

New posters have been installed outside trailers, although we don't expect to see any new scenes inside the maze this year. It's good to see the outside of the attraction receiving work before it opens for Fright Nights. There's also a huge pile of pumpkins in the compound area, we expect these to be installed in the Crows scare zone soon.

With Oktoberfest underway, there aren't many preparations that can be done for the new show/scare zone Lucifiers Lair. It's going to be a fast turnaround from Oktoberfest to Fright Nights this year!

We wouldn't be surprised if we saw Amity set up in the next few days. We wonder if the iconic yellow busses will return or if the zone will have a new look and feel for 2023.

Fright Nights begins in 19 days!
