It's been announced via the European Coaster Club magazine that FlumeRide at Liseberg is set to close at the end of the 2023 theme park season. Built by Arrow and opened in 1973 the ride is set to be retired, with it featuring an iconic double-down drop this ride will be truly missed. As maintenance costs rise with the age of attractions we expect this is one of the main reasons for the ride being removed.
However, with lots of log flumes being removed around the UK and Europe, we look to the future and wonder what will replace it. Liseberg never sit on an attraction being SBNO (closed) and always seems to always have plans in the works for the next big thing!
The park is of course celebrating 100 years of Liseberg this year. With these celebrations, we expect to see a big goodbye ceremony to FlumeRide!
It's time to start booking some flights and getting those last rides before this iconic ride is gone.
