Following problems with the ride at the start of the 2014 season Safari Skyway is to be closed for the remainder of the year. The ride hasn't been open for a few weeks with a permanent looking sign put on the gate telling guests that the ride wouldn't be opening today. However the park have now updated their website to say “We’re sorry to announce that despite our best efforts Safari Skyway will not be open for the remainder of 2014 due to technical issues. Our apologies to all Adventurers as we know this is a much loved ride.”
It is believed that the ride will receive extensive maintenance during the closed season hopefully fixing these technical problems. The ride has been open for 28 years and is starting to look a little worn down in some places however still as popular as ever we suspect that the park has a plan and we will see the ride back in operation next year.
