Chessington World Of Adventures 2022 Waterpark Public Exhibition

Chessington World Of Adventures
Wednesday 16th November 2022

Chessington has shown off plans for its future expansion and water park at today's public exhibition in the Safari hotel conference suite.

Project Waterpark Adventure is a new waterpark being built next to the Safari hotel. Using the current meeting rooms as changing rooms, toilets and a walkway to the new extension, the new water park is the park's latest investment of 30 million pounds.

Predicted to open in 2025 if approved in the next few months, this new waterpark will feature a wave pool, infinity pool, some slides inside, a lazy river and animals. This new waterpark will be a huge expansion to the resort facilities at Chessington! If approved, this water park will be open all year round unlike the theme park, when chatting with management they confirmed that the water park will be open to both day guests and those staying at the on-site hotels. There are no comparable existing waterparks in Greater London or within the M25.

"In past years there has also been a real focus on improving the accommodation and getting the site operating as a Resort. The key focus now is to introduce new quality rides and attractions. It will be ‘kickstarted’ by the opening of the new themed land “World of Jumanji” in 2023."

"The application site comprises part of the ‘22 Acre Field’ and Safari Hotel located within the north west part of the Resort. To the immediate south of the site are the other parts of the Safari and Azteca Hotel, to the east is the north car park and to the west is the Wanyama Reserve and Safari Lodges accommodation site. Further north west of the Safari Hotel is predominantly landscaping. The site is well screened by trees along the boundary to the west and north."
