Thorpe Park has been doing such a good job of publishing closed-season maintenance this year that we’ve not had much to post about! However, there are a few things that we’ve spotted that the park hasn’t posted themselves.
Zodiac is being put back together after being checked during the closed season. Work on repainting rush is continuing with scaffolding towers seen around the air tanks for the ride. At Tidal Wave, it would appear that the top of the ride is receiving some work, it's unknown if this is bolt checking or if the ride will also be receiving a repaint. We already know the splash-down section of the ride is being repainted this year.
Colossus looks amazing from across the lake, however, it would appear that sections of the track for the ride are still missing. The ride is receiving lots of work during the closed season this year so it's here to stay for a while yet!
Nemesis Inferno has been having lots of work done to it over the closed season, at the beginning of the month the second train for the ride could be seen parked up on the break run. Fast forward a few weeks and this train is now gone. We expect the train that was in the maintenance bay has been finished and moved into the station. Scaffolding can be seen on the lift hill and break run for the ride to check sensors or more major work.
Work continues at the Dobble Tea Party, scaffolding has been installed around the structure to replace old panels. The sponsorship is staying as confirmed by the park. Repainting Stealth continues with more photos shared by the park recently, however, we wonder if during this work the park will reinstall the single rider queue line.
Over at Rumba Rapids, the boats can still be seen on the maintenance road and new signs can be seen on the fence. No fly tipping at Rumba, please! New fences have also been installed on the road by Rumba Rapids, just normal maintenance but always worth a small mention.
Thorpe Park reopens for the 2024 season on Sunday 24th March 2024.
